Honeywell and Motorola have jointly presented a new solution in employee safety and security called Honeywell & Motorola Connected Safety Solution.

The need for this type of solution has appeared while companies in many industries recognize the need for greater controls and monitoring of worker exposure to hazardous gases. Because certain exposures can be life-threatening, response needs to be fast and effective.

Besides reliability, it was attempted to create a solution that will help keep workers that are using Honeywell gas detectors safe by connecting them to a central location for emergency communications management.

Paired with a Honeywell gas detection device, the MOTOTRBO system keeps your workers connected to the Honeywell Safety Suite, providing comprehensive monitoring of their environment while they are on the job.

Work principle of the system is as follows: Honeywell gas detector communicates with the MOTOTRBO radio via Bluetooth to send alert data. The radio translates the sensor data messages which are sent to the Honeywell Safety Suite application. The Safety Suite application cascades the alerts to other radios on the network.

The system is currently available for certain models of Honeywell single-gas and multi-gas portable detectors and two models of Motorola radios in Europe (DP 4601e and DP 4801e).
