Refineries

Gas leaks in refineries can occur due to damage of pipelines, pipe elbows or valves. Refinery processes emit various hazardous gases into the atmosphere.

Besides the risk of exposure to gases and accidents such as fires and explosions, there are health and hygiene risks due to inhalation of air pollutants, such as hydrocarbons, which result in short-term or long-term health problems. It is therefore important to detect the gas present as early as possible to carry out the timely evacuation of personnel from the danger zone.

Typical applications:

  • Pipelines, valves, pipe elbows
  • Refinery warehouses
  • Crowded spaces
  • Unloading units
  • Ventilation systems

Typical gases:

  • Flammable: Various hydrocarbons and alcohols including Methane, Propane, Ethylene, Ethanol, Methanol, Propanol
  • Toxic: Hydrogen sulfide, Carbon monoxide, Sulfur dioxide, Nitrogen dioxide, Hydrogen chloride, Hydrogen fluoride, Ammonia
  • Oxygen: Oxygen deficiency
